37-acre industrial scheme takes a step closer

Real estate investor and developer, Firethorn Trust, has broken ground at Northampton Cross, a 37-acre speculative industrial development in Milton Ham.

The scheme includes 354,000 sq ft of logistics space with units ranging from 52,000 sq ft to 250,000 sq ft.

Chris Webb, partner, Firethorn Trust said: “This is an exciting step as we start work on delivering this Grade A logistics space in such a strategic location, close to the M1, major road networks and amenities. As well as being easily accessible, by dedicating space to open green areas, trim trails and outdoor gym equipment, we’re able to create an attractive place to work for employees.”

Firethorn has appointed Midlands-based A&H Construction to deliver the scheme, which is set for completion in summer 2021. The development will incorporate sustainable technologies including roof mounted solar panels and multiple electric vehicle charging points.

Webb added: “A&H Construction stood out because of their established reputation for delivering outstanding projects in the industrial sector. As well as being able to advance our vision for the scheme, their commitment to delivering high quality projects and finding the best solutions closely resonated with our own values, so it is a great fit.”

Steve Cutler, construction director at A&H Construction said: “We are pleased to be working with Firethorn on this development, and to incorporate Firethorn’s sustainable initiatives and design principles to deliver quality warehousing solutions for occupiers.”
