On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Phoebe Sellars

Phoebe Sellars has been appointed as business development and loan manager at the Chesterfield-based bridging finance company Bridge Help.

Sellars brings a background in retail management and law to the new role at the company.

She said: “I was previously working for a legal firm and my role was furloughed during lockdown. During this time, I witnessed the fact that the bridging loan industry didn’t stop. It was very much business as usual and deals were still being done and no two days were the same. I loved the proactive and flexible approach to working in the face of adversity. I am a person that likes to be busy and challenged and it was a career move that excited me.”

She added: “I am surrounded by an experienced and knowledgeable team, including the bridging industry stalwart Danny Power. With the business plans we have in place I am excited by what the future holds for both me and Bridge Help.”

Robin Johnson

Two new faces have joined Marketing Derby.

Robin Johnson and Amy Burton are the latest additions to the inward investment agency’s team, which works to attract investment to both Derby and Derbyshire.

Johnson has joined the team as press and PR executive, while Burton has been appointed as inward investment executive.

Johnson was previously business editor at the Derby Telegraph. He spent 23 years at the newspaper, the majority of which was spent on the business desk.

Amy Burton

Burton has more than a decade of experience in the residential property sector. She was a director at IMS Lettings when the business was taken over by Leaders in 2015 and went on to become an area manager for the company, responsible for branches in Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire.

John Forkin, managing director of Marketing Derby, said: “I would like to welcome our two new additions.

“Robin already commands an excellent reputation among the business community and we are delighted to have him on board. He was reporting on Marketing Derby from its inception so has a good understanding of what we do here.

“Amy brings with her great knowledge of the property sector which will be of real benefit to investors and businesses as part of the services we offer to support those setting up, expanding and re-locating in the city and county.

Both of these appointments are part of our ongoing strategy to further enhance the way we assist investors, serve our Bondholders and support the city’s economic recovery.”
