Final order given to Robin Hood Energy to pay outstanding debt

Ofgem has issued three suppliers with final orders compelling them to pay £15 million in outstanding payments to comply with the Renewables Obligation (RO) scheme and in Feed-in Tariff (FIT) levelisation payments by 31 October.

The three suppliers are Nabuh Energy, Robin Hood Energy and Symbio Energy.

The three suppliers failed to pay into the buy-out fund or present the required number of Renewables Obligation Certificates (ROCs) by the initial deadlines of 31 August and 1 September 2020. They now have until the late payment deadline of 31 October to make the outstanding payments, plus interest.

Robin Hood Energy also failed to pay its FIT levelisation payment.

In September, the former Nottingham City Council-owned firm was sold to Centrica, with 250 people losing their jobs.

The news comes after a disastrous year for Robin Hood Eenergy, which saw it lose more than £23m and replace most of its top brass.

A recent report has slammed Nottingham City Council for its governance of RHE after it had invested £43m of public money and provided £16.5m of guarantees.
