Fit-out firm Office Innovations has handed over office space to two tenants set to move into the newly-renovated City Buildings on Carrington Street in Nottingham.

Software developer Lockwood Publishing is set to take floors one and two at the landmark scheme, while LexisNexis Risk Solutions, a leading data, analytics and technology provider to the insurance market will move into the third floor in deals brokered by FHP Property Consultants.

Shoby Investments received planning permission from Nottingham City Council for the £8.5m transform of City Buildings into 35,000 sq ft of Grade A office space in March last year. The firm bought the building, in the Southern Gateway of Nottingham, in April 2018.

The two deals mean only the fourth floor of the building is now available.

Lockwood Publishing, occupying levels one and two, wanted an open plan office which worked around its teams, according to Office Innovations which worked closely with the firm’s Karl Hilton to provide flexible working and multiple break away spaces.

Office Innovations worked with LexisNexis Risk Solutions, occupying level three, to specify a selection of finishes ranging from flooring, manifestations and kitchen finishes. The firm’s new offices have meeting rooms which take advantage of new views and areas where their employees can pause for a break and recharge.

David Shelton of Shoby Investments told TheBusinessDesk.com last year that he wanted the regenerated City Buildings to become “the Shoreditch of Nottingham”.

He said: “The design will be adaptable for one or multiple tenants and the space will have an industrial design feel over three floors whilst retaining retail on the ground floor.”

“The building will be returned to its former glory with renovated shop frontages creating a similar feel to the Shoreditch, London.”
