A leading online florist has appointed Nottingham- and Lincoln-based PR and digital agency Cartwright Communications as its retained PR agency.

Bunches, a family-run business that delivers flowers, plants, and hampers direct to homes across the country, has appointed Cartwright to deliver media relations as well as supporting its digital PR and marketing activity.

Liz Cartwright, managing director at Cartwright Communications, said: “We are absolutely delighted to be working with Bunches and to have added such a strong consumer brand to our portfolio.

“Bunches was actually one of the first Nottinghamshire businesses I wanted to work with when I first set up the agency over 15 years ago after meeting them during my time as a journalist. To finally partner with them, and through a virtual pitch during lockdown, is a fantastic accomplishment.”

The new account win strengthens Cartwright’s expertise in the retail sector and e-commerce, expanding on its work with consumer-facing brands which includes Wall’s Pastry and Pork Farms. Bunches joins other new clients recruited during lockdown including Nottingham Castle Trust, which will see the agency handle its national PR in 2021.

Cartwright added: “We’ve been incredibly fortunate to be a business that has thrived during what has been an incredibly difficult year for many sectors. Whilst our long-standing strengths in property and construction and professional services have been a solid foundation, we’ve utilised our in-house marketing team to strengthen our own brand; relaunching our website and prioritising a new business push that has borne fruit in the way of new clients, whilst promoting our strengths with top consumer and food and drink names.”
