New jobs promised as listed developer gets go-ahead for Nottingham warehouse scheme

A listed commercial property investment vehicle has been given the green light to build a new 40,000 sq ft warehouse and office building on derelict land in Nottingham.

Urban Logistics REIT has been granted planning permission to develop the scheme on the former Crosland Filters site on Glaisdale Drive East, which has unused since the company closed its doors there in 2007.

The new warehouse will be accompanied by 50 car parking spaces and be split into two separate units.

A statement from the Harris Partnership, the firm submitting the plans to Nottingham City Council, said: “The new proposals will infill an area of blight within the street scene which has long been needed to improve the visual amenity and discourage anti-social behaviour.

“The proposed development is in keeping with the existing building uses within the immediate vicinity and has been designed with flexibility for various future occupiers.

“The new building will provide a contemporary addition to the road frontage and will provide opportunities for businesses, bringing new jobs into the area.”
