‘Proud’ new recruits to IoD team

The Institute of Directors (IoD) has appointed a vice-chair and two new ambassadors to its Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire branch team.

Paul Eeles, chief executive of the Nottingham-based Skills and Education Group, is vice-chair and interim chair. He is also the branch’s skills and education ambassador.

Eeles has spent more than 10 years at Skills and Education Group, which supports the development of further education colleges and skills providers through professional development initiatives and the group’s awarding bodies.

He was chair of the Federation of Awarding Bodies, the trade association for awarding bodies in the UK, for four years up to the end of 2020.

Stacey Green has been appointed as diversity and inclusion ambassador.

The professional dancer and singer is co-founder of the TIRED Movement, which aims to improve racial equality in the dance industry, and of the Freedom Foundation, which delivers programmes to children and young people in schools using the creative arts to enhance emotional wellbeing.

As diversity and inclusion ambassador, she will help to ensure that the IoD is an open and fair organisation that offers a warm welcome and equal opportunities for all directors to connect and develop.

Greg Simpson, managing director of Press for Attention PR, has joined the team as PR and communications ambassador. As well as running his own business for the past 13 years, Simpson is also a regional champion for Nottingham with Enterprise Nation and a committee member for Nottingham Professional Services.

He told TheBusinessDesk.com: “I am naturally very proud to be joining the IoD as an ambassador at a crucial time for businesses of all sizes across the UK. I will be working with a fantastic group of people on the IoD team who have a great spread of skills, contacts and energy which will benefit the current and future membership.

“The IoD provides an effective voice to represent the interests of its members to key opinion-formers at the highest levels and I will be doing my bit to help ensure that IoD policies and views are actively promoted to the regional and local media and our members.”
