New owners of IT firm set for ‘next level’ after MBO

Brett and Vicky Critchley are setting a course for growth

The husband and wife team behind the management buyout of Cooper Parry IT say they hope to at least triple the firm’s turnover over the next three years.

Vicky and Brett Critchley led the MBO of the firm last week and intend to rebrand the company with a new name – Bamboo Cloud. Vicky is the company’s new CEO and Brett has become executive chairman.

Bamboo Cloud currently has a turnover of around £9m and a workforce of 92, but the new owners want to acclerate growth.

Brett Critchley said: “In about three years’ time we want to have at least trebled our turnover. The MBO will give us a massive boost to get to the next level.”

Vicky Critchley added: “We’re also going through a new tranche of recruitment and promoting a profile of self-growth within the company. We’re bringing in young people and looking to build an apprenticeship scheme.”

Bamboo Cloud is also looking for a new head office, to be based in Derby.

Brett said: “We’re undecided as yet whether we want to be in the city centre, or on Pride Park, for example. But Derby will be definitely be our global hub.”

Bamboo Cloud has staff across the UK and US office in Dallas. Growth Stateside is “explosive”, say the new owners and a $2m turnover is set to double by the end of the year.

Brett added: “The MBO was two years in the making and we can only say good things about Cooper Parry, who have been brilliant throughout. We’ve now got our own identity and we’re ready for the next level.”
