Kirk Smith, Nathan Lawson and Andrew Bramley (operations director)

Derby engineering company P Ducker Systems has appointed a new managing director from within its ranks to succeed long-serving Mike Rose.

Nathan Lawson has taken the helm of PDS at a buoyant time for the business. A strong order book means revenues for its next financial year are already on course to be 25 per cent higher than the current year, which ends on March 31.

Rose, who has been managing director since 2012, will remain with the Derby-based company as a consultant until the summer.

Lawson, who has been promoted from services director, joined PDS in 1997 as a maintenance and installation engineer. Chartered engineer Kirk Smith, who joined in 2004 as a graduate support engineer, has been promoted from support development manager to services director.

Rose said: “Having reached the age of 60, the time has come for me to hand over the reins, and Nathan is an excellent choice to take over as managing director.

“He has been at PDS for 24 years, during which time he has shown a fantastic commitment to customer focus while substantially growing our service offering. His promotion is well-deserved and provides for a smooth transition.”

A manufacturing company in Nottinghamshire has created the new role of commercial director.

Based in Langar, Interflex manufacture and supply a range of NVH and sealing solutions for vehicles including door seals, interior trim, under carpet and boot seals.

Neale said: “I’m delighted to be working in this exciting new role at Interflex; the team has been very welcoming. “We have already developed our product portfolio and branding which will lay the foundations to create profitable and sustainable growth year on year within automotive and other key industries. We are also launching an innovative new product, so it’s all systems go for the business.”
