People: Avant Homes; UHY Hacker Young

Nottingham-based housebuilder Avant Homes Midlands has promoted its commercial director, Tim Hawkes, to the newly-created role of regional development director.

Hawkes has almost 20 years’ experience in the housebuilding industry and joined Avant Homes Midlands in February 2020 as commercial director. In his new role, he will be responsible for leading the regional development team while also overseeing the architectural, engineering, and commercial functions for the business.

Hawkes said: “As regional development director for the Midlands, I hope to apply my diverse industry experience to help continue to drive Avant Homes’ reputation as a housebuilder with a difference.

“I’ve had a passion for housebuilding since my first day in the industry as a commercial trainee almost 20 years ago, and I look forward to bringing that same passion to provide the business and the regional development team the best opportunity for success.”

Abigail Riley

Two university graduates have joined UHY Hacker Young’s Nottingham office as they take their first steps towards a career in accountancy.

Abigail Riley and Luke Broughal have both entered the sector as student chartered accountants and will be working across UHY’s accounts and audit departments.
