Property lawyer joins newly-opened Leicester office

Real estate and property development lawyer Anil Kumar has joined the Leicester office law firm Excello Law, which recently opened an office in the city centre.

Kumar qualified in 2004 and has expertise and experience in land development transactions, real estate finance and landlord and tenant matters with clients ranging from developers, house builders, landowners and commercial property investors to banks and lending institutions in connection with secured lending transactions.

Kumar has worked in the City of London for international law firms, a boutique property and planning practice and has also worked in-house leading the lending team for a Midlands based business bank.

He said: “My decision to join Excello was based on Excello being 100% dedicated to consultant lawyers, the commitment to the East Midlands with the opening of the new office in Leicester, and also the prospect of re-uniting with ex-colleagues and other well-respected lawyers that were known to me, all of whom advised me of their own positive experiences of working at Excello. On joining, I have been really impressed by the exceptional talent across the firm and the Excello team spirit and culture.”

Joanne Losty, director at Excello Law, said: “Anil is joining a first-class, real estate team in the Midlands that has seen significant growth over the last few years. We’re delighted he’s joined us and brings valuable additional expertise to support our clients.

“Our investment in the region continues apace with the opening of a new office in Leicester this January, building on the success of our Birmingham office that was opened in 2019. We’ve enjoyed a great start to 2021 with high levels of recruitment as our agile business model continues to attract senior lawyers looking for greater freedom to practise.”
