Recruitment firm eliminates gender pay gap

Recruitment firm, SF Recruitment, which has offices in Leicester and Nottingham, says it has levelled its gender pay gap.

The difference in hourly rates among male and female employees now stands at 0%, while 50% of senior positions at the company are occupied by women.

Reporting its figures since 2018, when SF Recruitment had a 25% pay gap, the firm says it has implemented a number of changes, driven by CEO Saira Demmer, including introducing greater flexible working hours and an enhanced maternity leave policy.

Demmer said: “This is a very proud moment for everyone involved with SF Recruitment. When we first started to report on the gender pay gap, we realised that more could be done to create an inclusive environment for every employee and we have worked to ensure our team had the right tools to develop their skills.

“We truly believe that putting the best person in a role based on ability – regardless of their background – will lead to balanced teams at every level of the business. While we have not necessarily designed our organisation structure to attract certain employees to the business, we are delighted to be able to show other businesses that having a diverse team leads to success.”

In 2020, SF Recruitment was recognised for its employee engagement by Best Companies, where it was also named among the top five companies to work for in the Midlands, regardless of size.

Demmer added: “Looking after the team, and ensuring everyone has the opportunity to flourish, will always be a key priority for us at SF Recruitment. Our efforts to make the workplace an inclusive environment will not stop at this latest gender pay gap announcement.

“We will continue to introduce initiatives to improve the workplace further, including enhanced flexible working arrangements and added mental and physical wellbeing support. It is important that all colleagues have the right support to succeed, and can’t wait to see how we progress in the future.”
