New MD at homebuilder on the hunt for land

James Smith

Belper-based Peveril Homes has appointed a new managing director.

James Smith, who has developed his career at Peveril Homes for 23 years, and most recently promoted from land director, says his immediate priority is the acquisition of new land across the Midlands.

Smith added: “I will ensure we continue to create beautiful quality homes for residents to build a life in. I am extremely excited to be taking the business forward for the foreseeable future.

“There have been many highlights during my Peveril Homes’ career, but the most prominent one for me is the fantastic team I work with. They’re amazing and it’s an honour to be part of this thriving business that genuinely cares about its homebuyers. Everyone who works at Peveril Homes strives to ensure our purchasers have a wonderful experience when joining the Peveril Homes family.”

Smith progressed through his career at Peveril Homes having left Nottingham Trent University in 1997 where he studied Urban Estate Surveying, then joining Peveril Homes as Assistant Land Buyer. From there, his career went from strength to strength. James was quickly promoted first to land Buyer and then land manager. Following the departure of the land and sales director 10 years ago, Smith was given the opportunity to become the land director, working alongside former director, Colin Wright.
