More details revealed on major Nottingham gateway scheme

How the scheme will look

A new student accommodation scheme on one of the busiest routes in and out of Nottingham city centre will be designed by DAY Architectural of Manchester, according to documents seen by TheBusinessDesk.com.

As we reported last week, the plans, by Crosslane, could see a 210-bed scheme built at 5-17 Huntingdon Street, which is currently occupied by a number of different low-grade commercial buildings which are predominately vacant or on short licences.

DAY has a long-standing relationship with Crosslane and has worked on a number of schemes across the UK since 2014.

The Nottingham scheme can be traced back to October 2019 when initial sketches were produced before an initial pre-application submission was made to Nottignham City Council in the December of that year.

The proposed scheme will stretch over six storeys and include a gym, private dining facilities, a cinema, games area and study space. A private courtyard will also be built.

Crosslane hopes to receive planning permission for the scheme by the third quarter of the year and see the development occupied by the start of the academic year in 2023.
