Home care services firm opens first high street shop

A Leicestershire-based franchise, Home Instead Charnwood, has opened its first high street shop in Loughborough, after securing a six-figure commercial mortgage from HSBC UK.

The funding has enabled local businesswoman and franchisee Charlotte Johnson, to buy a store  on Church Gate Street, an affluent area in Loughborough town centre. Jane Hunt, MP for Loughborough, attended the ribbon opening ceremony.

Johnson’s team will offer a wide range of services to local residents, from housekeeping and meal preparation, to personal care and specialist dementia support.

Home Instead provides home care services across the UK, supporting the elderly to remain independent and continue to live in their own homes for as long as possible.

Johnson said:“After launching our business in 2017 following a 14-year stint in manufacturing, design and retail, I’m delighted to be able to open the first Home Instead Charnwood shop in Loughborough.

“Our clientele want expert advice for their elderly relatives in-person, so it was important for us to invest in the high street to ensure we provide those important human touchpoints for our customers. I would like to thank HSBC UK and in particular our Relationship Manager, Mark Greasley, who made the process completely seamless for our business.”

Over the next couple of years, Home Instead Charnwood says ut hopes to expand the business by opening new shops across the East Midlands.
