Plans revealed for major care facility on prime West Bridgford site

How the scheme would look

Plans to build a major care home facility on the site of car park in West Bridgford have been revealed.

Tanglewood Care Services, which runs homes at six sites across Lincolnshire, wants to expand into the Nottinghamshire market with a scheme designed by C Squared Architects on a site next to the Trent Bridge Cricket ground at the new Tesla car showroom.

Designs outline a 72-bed residential care home with car parking, access, drop-off areas and landscaping.

A planning statement reads: “The proposed care home will provide high quality, 24 hour, nursing and specialist dementia care for elderly people with a range of complex needs. The home will meet a demand in the area for high quality, specialist facilities and care provided by a highly respected operator.

“We believe the scheme will complement the new developments that have been approved in the immediate area. Whilst the previous approvals for the site were appropriate, we believe this design will be a more successful proposal for the site and the surrounding area.”
