Forest sign record sponsorship deal with Nottingham firm

Nottingham Forest have announced a new multi-year partnership with Nottingham-based healthy nutrition brand The Skinny Food Co as the club’s new back-of-shorts partner.

In a record category deal for the club, The Skinny Food Co will become official partners of both the men’s and the women’s team for at least the next two seasons.

Alongside having the logo on the shorts for the men’s, women’s and retail kits, The Skinny Food Co will use their wider partnership rights with Forest, such as LED perimeter advertising and digital promotions.

Founded in 2018, The Skinny Food Co is stocked in major high street retailers including Morrisons, Co-op, Home Bargains, TK Maxx, SPAR, B&M Bargains and Lidl, plus in excess of 30 countries.

David Cook, Nottingham Forest chief commercial officer, said: “We are thrilled to be working with The Skinny Food Co ahead of the 2021-22 season. Since our first discussions with Wayne and James, it’s been fantastic to learn more about their story, their significant growth over the last few years and also their passion for football.”

Cook added: “We pride ourselves on being forward thinking and innovative as a club, and it’s clear that these are core beliefs shared by The Skinny Food Co. We look forward to playing our role in helping this family friendly brand to continue to go from strength-to-strength.”

James Whiting, co-founder at The Skinny Food Co, said: “As a sports fan myself, especially football, it’s an incredible feeling for me and a huge achievement for the company. If you had told me three years ago that we would be sponsoring such a famous team like Nottingham Forest, I’d never have believed you.”

He added: “We look forward to working with such a dynamic and ambitious team and hope to see our relationship develop further in the coming seasons. We’re excited to continue to grow with Nottingham Forest and this partnership will really help us achieve our ambitious marketing and business objectives.”

Fellow co-founder, Wayne Starkey, added: “For us to sponsor such a recognised and prevalent team with such a widespread fan base right on our doorstep is incredible. Not only will this aid us to continue to increase our strong local presence in Nottingham and surrounding areas, but to be a part of a team with such deep-rooted and ingrained history within this city is an amazing feeling.

“We’re looking forward to supporting our local team and are excited to work alongside the community to continue to help others live healthier, active lifestyles.”
