Rolls-Royce mulls sale of AirTanker stake

Derby manufacturer Rolls-Royce could be about to sell its share in AirTanker, the business behind the RAF’s Voyager refuelling fleet.

Sky News is reporting that Rolls, along with Babcock International Group have appointed investment bankers from Jefferies to try and sell their combined shareholding in AirTanker.

Between them, they own around 50% of the company, which is responsible for the British military’s air-to-air refuelling capability – as well its international allies. It is based at RAF Brize Norton.

Other stakeholders in AirTanker include Airbus Group and the French group Thales, whose stakes are thought not to be up for sale.
