Retail property sold before hitting the market

A retail property in Derbyshire has been snapped up before it hit the market.

The property in Duffield comprises a ground floor refurbished showroom which is occupied by Meadow Vale Carpets.

Above the shop and accessed from an external shared rear staircase are two flats, one of which has been extended to provide duplex accommodation.

Mark Richardson, partner at BB&J Commercial who completed the deal, said: “We were absolutely delighted to get a sale on this property agreed in a very quick time frame. It demonstrates the underlying strength of the investment property market, and this particular property has the appeal of a long-established trading tenant as well as two high-quality residential apartments. Using our database of active investors, we were quickly able to match both parties together. Yet again it demonstrates how good contacts, and a proactive approach is key to getting a good result.”

He added “In terms of freehold investment sales there has been absolutely no let-up in demand, and we anticipate the market will continue to be active, driven by many people trusting property as a solid way to provide a return on their investment, both in terms of rental income and capital growth.”
