People: Finch Consulting; Ascentant Accountancy

Leicestershire based, health and safety engineering risk management expert, Finch Consulting, has appointed Angelica Rutherford-Hacon.

With over 25 year’s experience in civil engineering, Rutherford-Hacon will be joining Finch as a senior consultant from her most recent position with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).

She said: “I chose to join Finch seeing this opportunity as a way to contribute from my past 25 years’ experience as an ex HM specialist inspector (construction) and expert witness with the UK Regulator the Health and Safety Executive and having worked in various industry sectors for Tier 1 Civil Engineering Contractors to contribute to an exciting growing company offering professional assistance to clients in criminal prosecutions, civil litigation and general Health and Safety issues.”

Daniel Wilks

Ascentant Accountancy has hired Daniel Wilks as client manager and legal cashier.

Wilks had previously run his own boutique accountancy practice and will be responsible for payroll, auto enrolment, VAT returns in addition to his own portfolio of accountancy clients. He will also assist in the development of the Legal Cashiering division, working closely with the specialist team of legal cashiers.

Ascentant Accountancy have also promoted Emma Hawkins to cashier manager to supervise and manage its niche Legal Cashiering division, providing outsourced legal cashiering support to SME law firms across the country.

She said: “It is an exciting time to be part of the business which has ambitious growth plans and I look forward to growing the team and our client base”.

Director Kevin Drew will move into providing operational and strategic support the business and additional consultancy.

He said: “The team have worked hard through the pandemic to meet client needs and keep clients afloat. It is a testament to our team and supportive clients that the business is growing and we welcome another new team member.”
