People: Sky Recruitment Solutions; Bluecube

Beckie Elliott, Romey Lee and Ben Ryder

Derby-based Sky Recruitment Solutions, plus Nottingham-based sister company Capella Professional, has hired Romey Lee as business development manager.

It is the first time the two firms have made a joint hire.

Lee worked for nine years at Pfizer Animal Health firm Zoetis, as pharmaceutical account manager in preventive healthcare.

She said: “Zoetis wanted me to move to their head office in Surrey, London but as a single mum, that wasn’t really feasible.”

She moved into commercial property working for Staton Young based at co-working and office space Cubo Derby and met Sky Recruitment Solutions’ MD David Torrington at a networking meeting.

Lee said: “I already knew David and even brought Sky into the building at Cubo.

“Later I had a chat with Ben Ryder at Capella Professional about the possibility of a career change which resulted in him recognising my skill set and what I could achieve at both Capella Professional and Sky Recruitment Solutions. It all happened organically.”

Capella Professional’s business manager Ben Ryder said: “With a network as big as Romey’s, why would we give the job to anyone else?

“Our core values are about people, connections and relationships, and Romey understands that and is keen to take us forward.”

Lincoln-based telecoms provider, Bluecube, has hired Charlie Garrett and Liam Haynes to its customer service team.

Garrett joins the team whilst working remotely from his home in Sheffield. He will commute to the Lincoln office for his initial training along with any required meetings and team social events.

Haynes brings seven years of experience to the team from a similar role. Based in Lincoln, Haynes will adopt a hybrid working model and will be based both in the office and from home.
