Site of proposed student scheme sold to developer

How the scheme could look

A Derby city centre site which has planning permission for a 44-bed student scheme has been sold.

Pearl Developments has bought the land on Slack Lane in the city, in a deal brokered by BB&J Commercial. The site has planning consent for the new student development, which compromises 44 rooms split into nine apartments, over three floors.

Mark Richardson, partner at BB&J, said: “I was absolutely delighted to firstly get a sale agreed on the site within a few days of marketing, and then to get the deal completed within a few short weeks. It has been one of the smoothest transactions I have known. The speed of the deal and all parties’ commitment to seeing it through so quickly not only demonstrates the strong demand for student accommodation close to the expanding University of Derby in the city centre, but the underlying strength in the land market in general.”

“We have other exciting land opportunities shortly coming available so register your interest with us, and please do get in touch if you have land to sell.”
