Accountancy firm agrees new funding deal as it goes for growth

North-East Lincolnshire accountant Forrester Boyd has announced a move to new bankers Barclays and increased funding to support growth, following the appointment of nine new partners in October 2020.

Forrester Boyd has roots going back to 1900 when SM Forrester began practising in Grimsby. In 1935 the merger with W Robson Boyd created the partnership which today, is one of the largest independent chartered accountancy practices working across Lincolnshire and the Humber. The business is headquartered at 26, South Saint Mary’s Gate, Grimsby, the same building where Forrester Boyd was originally established.

Kevin Hopper, managing partner of Forrester Boyd, said: “Evolving and expanding the business is pivotal for the future of the practice. The funding from Barclays has enabled us to promote new partners and ensure the business is fit for the future with a diverse team operating across many sectors. We will continue to develop and invest in our colleagues with our aim to attract and retain the best talent and expertise we can for our clients.”

The business has offices in Grimsby, Hull, Beverley, Louth, Scunthorpe and Skegness incorporating 17 partners and over 155 staff.

Kevin Peart, Barclays relationship director put together the funding package for the deal and said: “It’s been very rewarding working with Kevin and the team future proofing the practice. I know they have plans to keep moving the practice forward and continue their ethos of providing pro-active business advice, to increase the wealth of their clients. The new funding from Barclays will enable them to support their clients and also target new markets and we’re delighted to be able to support Forrester Boyd with their growth ambitions.”
