1,000 jobs hang in the balance as chilled food distributor set to call in administrators

An Alfreton-based chilled foods distributor could be on the brink of collapse just 18 months after it was bought out of administration, saving 2,000 jobs.

EVCL Chill, a division of EV Cargo, is set to call in administrators from PwC, according to reports from Sky News, after an acute shortage of drivers forced the company’s hand.

ECVL Chill supplies the likes of Asda and Sainsbury’s.

The firm is reportedly holding talks with customers to try and hammer out a contigency plan to help it secure 1,000 jobs,

EVCL was previously called NFT Distribution. It was bought out of administration by EV Cargo, in a deal brokered by administrators from PwC.
