How the new rooftop space will look

Capital One has revealed plans to significantly remodel its 306,000 sq ft head office in Nottingham.

The financial services giant wants to reconfigure its Trent House on Station Street premises to include a roof terrace for employees and visitors to use and introduce fresh internal conference space.

Capital One, which employs 1,400 people in Nottingham has revealed the plans as part of a commitment to “creating a stimulating and responsive working environment” at Trent House.

The remodelling of Trent House will see:

– A new open air hospitality/events areas on existing rooftop areas

– A covered events terrace area at main roof level, with extension of terrace areas to high-level plant deck roof

– Green walls and planting

– A new vertical access through the existing building, via new stair and platform lift

– A dedicated conference suite at the existing Level 02 Mezzanine level, with improved
vertical access

A planning statement drawn up for Capital One reads: “These proposals are intended to benefit the company’s existing employees; they are not associated with any increase in staff numbers, nor are they expected to affect the day-to-day running of the offices in terms of deliveries or vehicle movements.”

Originally built as a printworks for Boots, Trent House was in a derelict state when Capital One undertook a major internal transformation of the building between 1998-2000 and made the premises its European headquarters.
