Shopping centre launches recruitment drive

More than 20 jobs are being created at Nottingham’s Victoria Centre.

A number of the centre’s retailers and eateries are on the look-out for new staff in the wake of the recent upsurge in high street retail.

Twenty one part-time and full-time contracts are on offer, including Be Luxe team manager at House of Fraser, floor manager at River Island and store manager at The Fragrance Shop.

Other opportunities include customer advisors and seasonal customer advisors at Boots while at John Lewis & Partners job hunters will find roles in customer service and in catering.

Additional vacancies are available at Skechers, Quiz, Chopstix and the Christmas Memories kiosk.

Centre director Nigel Wheatley said: “After a challenging 18-months, it’s fantastic to see our retailers once again bolstering their teams, not only demonstrating their confidence in the wider high-street landscape, but also showcasing their faith in our centre. We’ve noticed a real increase in the number of shoppers hitting the mall over recent weeks, and this year’s Student Night really emphasised the growing appetite for shopping, with footfall levels on a par with 2019’s event.

“With that demand though, comes the need for more helping hands and these current vacancies will play a fundamental part in helping our retailers continue to deliver exceptional service – especially as we lead up to our busiest time of the year with Black Friday and Christmas on the horizon.”
