Housebuilder agrees land purchase in North Leicestershire village

Housebuilder Dandara has bought a site in Wymeswold, North Leicestershire

Housebuilder Dandara has bought a site in North Leicestershire which has outline planning permission for 65 homes.

The 5.2-acre site is in the village of Wymeswold, five miles outside Loughborough. The value of the deal has not been disclosed.

The deal was led by development consultancy Mather Jamie, which has worked with the landowner since 2018, and acted as the sole agent working co-operatively with Rainier Developments, which had promoted the site for housing.

Gary Kirk, senior associate director at Mather Jamie, said: “The rise in house prices over recent months means there is high demand for this type of greenfield development site.

“This is creating unprecedented opportunities for the owners of land that has development potential to seek advice from experts like ourselves who have an in depth understanding of the planning requirements to build developments in rural areas.”

Private housebuilder Dandara plans to start work on site later this year.

Chris Higgins, land and development director at Dandara, added: “The development is in a tranquil location at the edge of Wymeswold village meaning buyers will have excellent facilities on hand, as well as being midway between Nottingham and Leicester, providing good employment opportunities.”
