Packaging firm sells production facility in £2.5m deal

Robinson, the Chesterfield-based packaging firm, has sold a property in Sutton-in Ashfield in a deal worth almost £2.5m.

The firm has sold the site to a joint venture between Rotherhill Developments and Euro Property Investments. Robinson will leaseback the property for six to nine months while production is relocated to a recently refurbished building at another of its sites in Sutton. The firm says the relocation will cost £600,000.

A statement from the firm said: “Subject to the necessary planning approvals, we would expect further sales of surplus property in Chesterfield to be achieved in the next 18 months. The intention of the group remains, over time, to realise the maximum value from the disposal of surplus properties and to reinvest the proceeds in developing our packaging business.”
