Blue Light Card secures ‘major’ investment

Tom Dalby and Steve Denny

Leicestershire-based Blue Light Card says it will go further for its members this year than ever before after landing investment from Inflexion.

Following a successful 2021, with total member savings of over £100m, a 30% increase in sign-ups from 1.8million to 2.3million members, and a total of 16,500 brand partners, Blue Light Card has secured a “major” investment which it says will help it carry out a range of improvements.

Inflexion joins BGF as investors. Blue Light Card has am ambition of saving members some £250m a year by 2026.

Tom Dalby and Steve Denny, Founders of Blue Light Card, said: “Being able to provide our members with the very best savings is always a key priority for us, with last year seeing us save frontline workers over £100m. By 2026, we aim to top that figure by helping our members save over £250m a year. And, this recent partnership with Inflexion will play a big part in that.

“Inflexion will be joining BGF, who have been involved since 2019, as key investors to help us go even further for the whole Blue Light Card community. Through this additional funding we’ll be able to enhance our product offering to provide members with even more ways to save and it’ll also allow us to carry out improvements to how we communicate with them too.

“2021 was a year of some brilliant successes with a 30% increase in sign-ups from 1.8million to 2.3million members, and a total of 16,500 brand partners. Looking ahead to the coming year, we already have lots of exciting plans in the pipeline, including the upcoming launch of a new charitable Blue Light Card Foundation which we look forward to revealing in due course and see us go even further for our community.

“This Inflexion investment marks a really positive step for Blue Light Card and we’d like to thank both them and BGF for all their support. We look forward to supporting even more frontline workers over the coming months and beyond through more savings than ever before from our fantastic brand partners.”
