Sports branding group kicks off in Nottingham

The team behind 6EZ

6EZ, a new Nottingham sports brand consultancy offering, has been launched.

The group, which consists of Sport + Art, a new brand creative agency, Macesport, the long-standing sports communications agency, Performance teq, offering commercial sales and SportiNG Distribution, a distribution and licensing agency, will also incorporate a talent programme and sports investment portfolio and is founded by experienced sports industry executive Ben Thompson.

The 6EZ Group, which is based in Nottingham, launched with an inaugural SportiNG Breakfast event at Six Restaurant on the top floor of the Radcliffe Road Stand at the iconic Trent Bridge. Over 50 top level sporting executives from the East Midlands and beyond joined the Group to hear from industry expert, author and co-founder of Two Circles, Matt Rogan, and his views on the future of sport.

Thompson, who will take CEO responsibilities for the group, is joined in the 6EZ Group by former adidas global PR director, Simon Bristow and performance teq director Anthony Dyer with other appointments expected to be made in the coming weeks.

Thompson said: “The 6EZ Group has been years in the making and in reality has been operating in this way for the last two years during the pandemic but we feel like the market is now ready for a joined up approach that is a game changer in the industry.

“Sport isn’t just a business for us, this is our passion, and I am excited about the level of expertise that we can bring to brands at whatever stage of their journey from start up through to established global brands who are looking for a team that understands the full marketing and commercial landscape.

“Brands that can successfully communicate, commercialise, and most importantly connect with their audience are going to be the winners post pandemic and more importantly they can help their communities to prosper too.

“Nottingham is a hot bed of sports industry talent at the moment, and we are intent on cementing its place as the home of sport in the UK on and off the field.”
