Student accommodation plans for landmark Nottingham building

A landmark Nottingham city centre building could be turned into student flats if a planning application is successful.

Taj Ubhi has submitted plans to turn floors 2-9 of Pearl Assurance House on the corner of Nottingham’s Old Market Square in 140 student bedrooms in a scheme designed by Maber that will transform current office space into residential use.

There will be no change to the buildings retail units at upper ground and lower ground floor levels.

The plans supersede a similar plans submitted in 2017 for the redevelopment of the 2nd to 9th floors to residential use.

Pearl House was built in 1962 and designed by architects Evans, Cartwright & Woollatt.
