Modular house builder to create 1,000 jobs with huge new factory

Modular house builder TopHat is set to open a huge new factory in Northamptonshire next year that will be the size of 11 football pitches.

The 650,000 sq ft facility will be the firm’s second in the East Midlands. Founded in early 2016, the firm started production in early 2018 at its Foston manufacturing facility in South Derbyshire.

The new production facility will be based in Corby, at GLP’s Magna Park site. TopHat says it wants to manufacture and distribute 4,000 homes a year – or one house an hour if it reaches full production.

Jordan Rosenhaus, CEO and founder of TopHat, said: “Our new facility will increase our capacity to over 4,500 homes a year.

“Our homes are designed to be beautiful and green, being low-carbon to build and much cheaper to run.

“We are also delighted to be creating 1,000 new jobs in Corby supported by a major investment in training through the TopHat Academy.”
