Midlands law firm helps Irish tech giant seal latest acquisition

Flint Bishop has advised on a second major acquisition for Irish tech giant Intact Software.

The Derby-based law firm provided legal advice to Intact over its purchase of rival enterprise resource planning company, Blue Rock Systems.

It previously advised on Intact’s acquisition of its reseller partner, Ramtac, in 2016.

A spokesperson for Intact, which operates internationally, said that “the complexities within these [two] transactions were handled with the care and professionalism we have come to expect from Flint Bishop.”

The Irish company’s latest swoop will see a further 43 employees join its workforce.

Fergal Barry, chief financial officer at Intact, said: “This was our second time using Flint Bishop to assist in an acquisition. On both occasions they have delivered for us.

“Martyn Brierley and his team took ownership of this project and drove it through to completion, whilst ensuring we were kept abreast of the progress by delivering pertinent information in a timely manner. They were a pleasure to work with and we look forward to availing of their services for the years to come.”

Brierley, head of corporate & finance at Flint Bishop, added: “We were thrilled to work once again with Justin, Fergal and the team at Intact, on this follow-on strategic acquisition. With Blue Rock strengthening Intact’s position in the software market, I’m excited to see where their growth leads them.”
