Alternative lender unveils third senior hire in three months

Richard Newman

Alternative finance provider ThinCats has unveiled its third senior hire in as many months.

Richard Newman joins the Ashby-based business as senior director of transaction management following a 20-plus year career with some of the biggest names in corporate finance, including HSBC, RBS and KBC Peel Hunt.

Newman, a qualified chartered accountant, will lead ThinCats’ transaction management team in the Midlands, reporting to the company’s head of transaction management Peter Talbot.

The announcement follows the appointments of West Midlands director of transaction management Neil Taylor in June and business development director Tom Horton in May.

Newman said: “I’m excited to be joining the ThinCats Midlands team. From working with businesses across the Midlands for more than 20 years, I’m delighted to be supporting mid-sized, high growth businesses that have been somewhat overlooked by traditional lenders. I look forward to working with Peter, Neil and the rest of the ThinCats team.”

Talbot added: “The West Midlands makes an important contribution to the UK economy, so it’s critical that businesses in the region can access the necessary funding to invest in their futures. As ThinCats continues to attract more borrowers, it’s exciting to have Richard, Neil and Tom all on board now so that advisers and businesses can benefit from their collective experience.”
