Up to 80 jobs to be created at Island Quarter venues

Canal Turn

Up to 80 jobs are on offer at the huge Island Quarter regeneration site in Nottingham.

A recruitment day is set to take place on July 22 to try and fill positions available across the project’s two new venues, Binks Yard which will feature craft beer, cocktails, grills and a wood-fired pizza oven, and finer dining restaurant, Cleaver & Wake.

Launching this summer, Binks Yard and Cleaver & Wake mark the first phase of the new canal-side destination. Once open, the two venues will have brought more than 80 new hospitality jobs to the city.

During the event, to be held at Binks Yard, attendees will get the opportunity to find out more about the new launches and hear talks from key members of the Binks Yard and Cleaver & Wake teams, including chef patron, Laurence Henry. There will also be a tour of the new space, a complimentary cocktail and a selection of small bites from the Binks Yard menu on offer, as well as a goodie bag to take home.

Emma Pearson, HR business partner for The Island Quarter, said: “The upcoming Binks Yard and Cleaver & Wake launches mark a really exciting new chapter for Nottingham, and we’re inviting the region’s hospitality workers to be a part of that. We have positions available from front of house to back of house at both venues, meaning there are lots of opportunities for those who might be looking for a change.

“It’s set to be a great day with lots to see and do including the chance to be the first people to get a sneak peek of the new venue before it opens to the public later this summer.

“If you’re currently working in hospitality or on the hunt for a career change, I’d urge you to register your interest quickly, as all spaces for the event are first come, first served. Not all roles require previous experience, but we do ask that all attendees bring along a copy of their most recent CV.”
