All jobs saved at joinery firm as director steps in to pay wages

A Nottingham specialist joinery firm has entered administration after one of its major debtors went bust.

Three Rooms Bespoke Joinery called in Louise Freestone from Opus Restructuring and Insolvency after it was owed around £1m.

Despite Three Rooms calling in administrators, managing director Simon Johnson managed to rescue the jobs of staff at the firm by initially covering their wages for two months. He then transferred all employees to other companies within the group.

According to its latest unaudited accounts, made up the end of August 2021, Three Rooms employed 20 people.

Following Opus’s appointment as administrator on July 12, Johnson has bought some of the plant and machinery of Three Rooms, while the remaining assets are being sold or returned. This process is being managed by Opus partner, Freestone.
