Mobile phone and communications solutions provider A1 Comms has hired a new manager to bolster its telesales and customer service operations.

Shane Kelly brings six years’ industry experience to the company having previously worked as a sales advisor, sales coach and team manager at Dixons Carphone and Curry’s.

Kelly will join the A1 team at its Derbyshire base in Darley Abbey.

He said: “Coming from an outside perspective and coming from a call centre that was similar to here, there are things that can be implemented in the company with a plan for progression and expansion in mind.

“The idea is to have 200 or more agents – which to me is brilliant, and it’s good to see that growth.”

The firm says it intends to grow Kelly’s team to include 43 sales advisors by the end of this month.

Kelly said: “We’re at a point now, as a business, where there’s a lot going on – especially in telesales – and there’s so much opportunity for growth. We’re continually recruiting and expanding, and it’s a great time for people to join the business.

“It’s different in terms of communication, which is great. I talk quite regularly with Steve Heald, the managing director, which wouldn’t have been the case in my previous roles. Everyone is very open, very friendly, and very approachable. The feeling I have is that Steve’s got my back.”

Specialist asset-based lender Ultimate Finance has appointed a new regional director after enjoying a strong start to the year.

Bridging finance expert Alice Williams joins the firm – which has an office in Lutterworth –  from Pilot Fish Services, where she was director and head of property finance.

She said: “Having dealt with Ultimate Finance as a broker I am extremely excited about the opportunity to be working on the other side of the transaction. Ultimate Finance’s reputation in the market and their commitment to getting the deal done has always impressed me and I am looking forward to utilising my understanding of how a broker works to support Ultimate Finance on their mission to be the funding partner of choice.”

Liam Cavanagh, the firm’s head of bridging finance, added: “I am delighted to welcome someone of Alice’s calibre to our growing sales team. Her knowledge and expertise in the Bridging and development finance market will be invaluable to us. H1 saw an increased level of new business for us following product enhancements, and with our latest announcement to freeze interest rates for the next 2 months we are committed to supporting even more brokers and their clients during this challenging time.”
