Green light for new apartment scheme near Becketwell site

Derby City Council has green lit plans to build a new residential development near the Becketwell regeneration site in Derby city centre.

BB&J Commercial has been appointed to market the scheme on Bramble Street, which will see an office block converted into 12 apartments varying in size between 308 sq ft and 538 sq ft.

Mark Richardson, partner at BB&J Commercial, said: “The timing of the marketing for this project could not be better. It is a fantastic opportunity to build a city centre scheme that will appeal both to professionals and the leisure market. We anticipate significant interest from developers looking to capitalise on the redevelopment of Becketwell, by building out a complementary scheme that stands very close by.”

The £200m Becketwell scheme is set to include a dedicated performance venue, Grade A offices, a 259-apartment building known as The Condor and a new public square on the site of the city’s former Central United Reformed Church.
