Plans for new Nottingham hotel get green light

Plans for a new hotel on a major Nottingham road have been given the green light by Nottingham City Council.

Nottingham Properties will develop the scheme on vacant land at 326 Mansfield Road. The new hotel will include 26 rooms, a bar, restaurant and parking spaces. It has been designed by Henry Mein Partnership.

A planning statement submitted to the council reads: “The elevations have been amended to suit the new internal layout and have been designed to reflect both that of the previous scheme and the existing properties in the area, with timber windows and stone detailing to compliment the main facing brick façade.

“The proposal follows the building line of the street and provides a step between the taller properties on the right and the lower building to the left, to help merge with the existing established streetscene.”

The site is currently vacant since the previous hotel on the site was demolished in 2005.
