Jobs lost as baking products manufacturer sends home staff

A Nottinghamshire-based manufacturer of home baking products has ceased trading – with scores of jobs lost, TheBusinessDesk.com understands.

Staff were sent home from Food Innovations Baking Group, based on Panattoni Park, on Monday (September 12), according to our sources. Phone calls remain unanswered from the company, despite several efforts on Tuesday.

The firm employed around 60 full-time staff, plus agency workers, at the Eastwood site.

The news comes just over a year after Food Innovations Baking Group said it was creating 35 jobs following the £3m move to Panattoni Park, which saw it centralise nine production units into one new facility.

The company had been backed by private equity house Ardenton Capital. It had sold the full spectrum of edible and non-edible products, from cake mixes and kits, food colourings and flavourings, cupcake cases and cake boards to frostings, sugar paste and marzipan, sprinkles and bagged cake confectionery.

Founded in 2004, Food Innovations Baking Group boasted more than 250 employees when Ardenton invested in the company in 2019 and has revenues in excess of £34m.
