Contractors appointed to £1bn public sector framework

Northamptonshire-based contractor Jeakins Weir and Lovell Partnerships, a wholly owned subsidiary of Morgan Sindall Group which has a significant presence in the East Midlands, have been appointed to a new £1bn public sector construction framework.

The two companies have been awarded a place on not-for-profit public sector provider LHC’s Construction of New Homes (H2) framework, which will operate for four years from 5 September 2022.

The framework will deliver a range of public sector housing, construction, care home and mixed-use projects across the UK, including sheltered housing and student accommodation schemes.

Dean Fazackerley, head of technical procurement at LHC, said: “The new H2 framework in England will equip providers to meet ongoing housing challenges within the public sector, addressing local housing demand while maintaining momentum in their journey towards the production of zero carbon homes.

“It’s hugely important that we continue to respond to the housing needs of local populations while at the same time looking to the future, creating healthier environments that embody social, human, and environmental considerations.”

The news follows Corby-based Jeakins Weir’s appointment to SCAPE’s new £750m regional construction framework in July.
