Nottingham Venues – the brand behind meetings, events, hotel stays and a collection of venues across the University of Nottingham’s campuses – has announced plans to create ten new roles.

The news comes after the business confirmed that its bookings for business and residential guests had returned to pre-pandemic levels.

The brand, which now employs nearly 250 people, also recently received full certification from the Living Wage Foundation.

Suzie Adams, HR director at Nottingham Venues, said: “We’ve been committed to the ‘Real Living Wage’ ever since we relaunched as Nottingham Venues as we believe that all of our staff deserve a wage which meets everyday needs. We are actively recruiting again after a period of consolidation and recovery post-pandemic which now sees us back to the kind of occupancy and delegate levels that we were enjoying before.

“It is most welcome to have our commitment to paying our talented and hugely valued team members recognised but for us that is the least we can do. There is so much uncertainty out there in the economy and a great deal of that is not something that we can control.

“However, if are to attract and retain the talented team members that we need to continue to grow and offer the best possible experience to our guests, there are things we can do. That may mean in terms of remuneration, free meals on shifts or by striving to create a working environment that is not only rewarding but also full of opportunities to train, develop and grow in terms of career paths.”

She added: “We are actively recruiting for 10 positions as we speak, with more to follow and we would welcome applications from anyone seeking to begin or develop a career in hospitality with us.”
