New model law firm completes milestone deal for Birmingham counterpart

A leading national consultancy law firm with a significant presence in Leicester has acquired a £2.5m turnover counterpart in a deal believed to be the largest of its kind.

Excello Law says its swoop for Birmingham-based My Business Counsel (MBC) marks “the first step in the consolidation of the fee share model.”

MBC was established in 2011 by Sandip and Rasneet Sohal. It employs 40 consultant lawyers focused primarily on corporate and commercial work.

The acquisition means Excello now boasts a team of 200 lawyers across the UK.

MBC’s consultant lawyers will now be able to work from Excello’s free-to-use office network, which covers ten locations across the country including Leicester, Birmingham and Stoke.
