Plumbing trade supplier taps into 150,000 sq ft distribution hub in Derbyshire

The site in Bolsover

Supplier to the plumbing trade, Wolseley UK, has taken a new 152,000 sq ft distribution centre in North Derbyshire.

Wolseley will consolidate several existing sites from its property portfolio for its new distribution centre which is at Bolsover at Junction 29a of the M1.

Equation Properties and BentallGreenOak alongside St Francis Group and Almcor are currently on site developing the first phase of speculative Horizon 29 development, which includes two further available units of 73,174 sq ft and 133,474 sq ft due for completion in Spring 2023.

Phase 1B of the 53-acre development will then follow with two further units of 105,487 sq ft and 137,070 sq ft, while Phase 2 will accommodate buildings from 249,866 sq ft upwards.

Rebecca Schofield, head of industrial at Knight Frank in Sheffield, which is marketing Horizon 29 for Equation along with JLL and Cushman & Wakefield, said: “The deal with Wolseley demonstrates the ideal location of the site, with immediate access to Junction 29a of the M1, at the boundary of the East Midlands and South Yorkshire. The development offers a range of sized units which will prove attractive to both local occupiers and foot loose occupiers looking for space in the area.”

Richard-Batham-Reed, managing director at Equation Properties, said: “The first pre-let at Horizon 29 demonstrates the strong, sustained occupational demand for new space in the region. We are delighted to be commencing construction works having signed Wolseley, and with several other discussions underway, we are excited for the next stages of development.”
