On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Stuart Dawkins

East Midlands Chamber has inaugurated a new president.

Stuart Dawkins brings a wealth of experience to the role having spent 18 years at Alliance & Leicester, including seven years as head of corporate communications.

Dawkins left Alliance & Leicester in 2008 and has since held non-executive director roles for organisations including the Chamber, EMB Group, Leicestershire & Rutland Community Foundation, East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust, De Montfort University and Wyggeston and Queen Elizabeth I Sixth Form College in Leicester.

He was inducted at the Chamber’s annual general meeting yesterday (13 December).

Dawkins succeeds Futures Housing Group chief executive Lindsey Williams as Chamber president.

He said: “If there is one thing the past two or three years have shown us all – as individuals and as businesses – it is how connected we all are: connected through our supply chains, connected to the services that support the places we live in, to the places our families live in.

“Business is a fundamental and vital part of our society. It is the engine of wealth. But, at heart, we all live in places; and our customers live in places; and our staff live in places; and our loved ones live in places. And those places form communities.”

Knights has appointed a pair of senior associates in Leicester.

Diane Price and Rachael Hillam will work within the law firm’s Plot Sales team.

Both have more than 30 years’ experience across commercial and property law.

Price said: “It is an honour to be part of such an amazing team who are clearly passionate about what they do.

“There is a saying – do what you love and you’ll never have a problem with Mondays.”

Hillam added: “I am very proud to take on this new and exciting opportunity at Knights.”

Blueprint Interiors has welcomed an experienced estimator to its team.

Andy Lillington brings over 20 years’ construction industry experience to the Ashby-based office fit-out firm.

He said: “I am really excited about the opportunity to work for a company that puts people and employee wellbeing first – not just internally, but clients and community as well. WorkLife Central is an inspiring head office with awesome collaborative environments which were a real attraction for me to join an award-winning team.”

Rachel Biddles, operations director at Blueprint, added: “Andy has wide ranging experience which will be a great addition to our team. He can relate to the needs of both colleagues and clients and able to quickly build strong relationships with clients and our supply chain partners.”
