Windows and doors manufacturer planning redundancies

Alfreton-headquartered uPVC manufacturer Eurocell is set to make “several dozen” redundancies ahead of an anticipated reduction in market volumes, reports suggest.

The job cuts will affect staff across Eurocell’s UK-wide trade counter network, according to trade title The Glazine.

The Derbyshire firm employs more than 2,000 people across its 210 branches.

Eurocell axed jobs in September 2020 after it posted a loss before tax of £16.5m for the six months to the end of June that year. 50 people lost out on that occasion.

It is unclear precisely how many jobs are currently at risk at the firm.

A spokesperson for Eurocell told The Glazine that “strategic changes across [the] business… have resulted in a few employees being redeployed to other roles and a small number of redundancies.”

Eurocell Profiles recently moved into a newly-refurbished 60,000 sq ft distribution unit near the group’s Alfreton headquarters.
