Forest net double senior hire

Wendy Taylor

Nottingham Forest have made two senior appointments in the run-up to Christmas.

Wendy Taylor joins as director of communications, while Tyson Henley is the club’s new chief commercial officer.

Taylor joins having spent eight years as head of media & communications at Newcastle United and, more recently, as strategic communications lead for the senior England Women’s team at The Football Association.

She led the communications strategy for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2019 and UEFA Women’s EURO 2022. She was also appointed by the British Olympic Association to lead on communications for Team GB Football at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

Henley has over two decades of global sports marketing and sales experience across a number of different roles in sport and joins Forest after three years as chief commercial officer with Ligue 1 side AS Monaco.

Nottingham Forest chairman, Nicholas Randall QC, said: “We are extremely pleased to welcome Wendy and Tyson, who will provide us with a wealth of knowledge and expertise in their respective fields, thanks to their extensive backgrounds in domestic, European and international football.

“We are striving to establish ourselves as a top flight club both on and off the pitch and it is vital that we are therefore able to deliver at the highest level across the business.

Key to this is having a strong senior leadership team and these appointments have been made to reinforce our existing expertise following the recent arrival of Filippo Giraldi as Sporting Director.”
