Notts County post fresh losses as creditor bill hits £14m

Notts County made a loss of £1.7m for the year to June 30 2022, the period that covers the 2021/22 season.
The Magpies have a huge creditor bill of almost £14m and are reliant on funding from their owners to continue in business – although the vast majority of the amount owed appears to be owners Christoffer and Alexander Reedtz, who bought the club in 2019. The National League club borrowed another £2m from their owners last season, taking the total owed to around £12m.
The Magpies made the National League play-off quarter finals last season, but were beaten by Grimsby Town who scored a last minute goal to progress – with the Mariners eventually winning a place back in the Football League at the first time of asking.
Notts County will be desperate for a return to the Football League themselves this season – and the signs are promising; the Magpies currently sit top of the National League – four points clear of nearest challengers Wrexham.
