160 jobs on offer at Grade II listed park

Wicksteed Park

160 seasonal jobs are to be created at Wicksteed Park in Northamptonshire after the venue unveiled a host of new additions including a 25-metre-high Ferris wheel.

The Grade II listed attraction in Kettering was founded in 1921 and incorporates an amusement park within its grounds.

A raft of jobs are being made available at Wicksteed as it gears up for the busy spring and summer seasons, including on the rides, in the grounds, on admissions and in customer service.

The family-friendly venue is set to fully open its doors for the season on Saturday April 1. Some of its new recruits will be given the opportunity to work on The Garden Wheel, which is believed to be one of the largest Ferris wheels in the region.

In the last two years the park has also introduced a new Galaxy Invaders ride, Meerkat Manor, Wicky Bear’s Theatre and Wicky’s Farmyard.

Megan Wright, head of sales and marketing at Wicksteed Park, said: “This is an amazing opportunity to join the Wicksteed Park family at a really exciting time, with our new Ferris wheel due to open and lots of other new rides and attractions in the pipeline.

“Our staff gain valuable experience which could be the first step towards a long-term career in the leisure industry.

“In fact, some of our most senior employees at the park began their careers in part-time or seasonal roles.”
