Family-run haulage and warehousing specialist joins major distribution network

The Ambergate firm has over 600,000 sq ft of warehousing across seven sites

Lockwood Group, the Derbyshire-based haulage, contract packing and warehousing solutions firm, has joined UK delivery network Palletline after spending nearly ten years with one of the West Midlands company’s rivals.

Lockwood was established in 1965, initially to produce and deliver frozen foods. The family-run business has long since branched out into other areas, and now has over 600,000 sq ft of warehousing across seven sites, employs a 200-strong workforce and operates 86 vehicles with 219 trailers.

Keith Allsop, Lockwood’s transport and warehouse director, said: “My team and I are excited to be joining forces with Palletline which will enable us to reduce our final leg delivery area in DE postcodes.

“A highly-respected member owned network with a 30-year heritage, the company has a reputation for innovation and for going the extra mile to meet customer needs. Their values are very much aligned with our own and we look forward to being a fully-fledged member of the network as we start a new chapter in our own journey.”

Glenn Baker, network and operations director of Palletline, said: “We are delighted to welcome Lockwood Group on board with Palletline. The company is highly regarded and respected across the industry, not least across our membership.

“The Lockwood team are forward thinking with a focus on quality services and excellent customer service, and we are excited to be working with them for the mutual benefit of the network and the company alike.”
